| Growing up in the Midwest,
Claudia Marie is the fourth of five children brought up by Christian
parents. Her mother and father involved themselves and the children
in their local church. Faith and virtues weren't abstract ideas Claudia
Marie heard about on Sunday morning. She saw God's love demonstrated
in the every day example of her family.
That's probably where she developed her
work ethic. Claudia Marie has never been afraid of a challenge,
or hard work. Her first job was in fast food at the age of 15 and
after high school, she was known to work two jobs - without neglecting
her commitment to church, family, or her studies.
Not only energetic, Claudia Marie is bright
and ambitious. She started as a receptionist and within three years
became a film buyer for the world's largest theater chain, Regal
Cinemas. She was one of few females and on of the youngest people
in the field to reach this position. In an industry not known for
being Christian-friendly, she earned the respect of her associates
and sales people from every major motion picture company with whom
she negotiated.
Having achieved this level of success,
why would someone walk away from what most people would call a dream
job? Because Claudia Marie realized that God had a different definition
of success and a calling on her life.
From her earliest recollection, Claudia
Marie can remember her brothers singing together. They exhibited
smooth harmonies and developed relationships with pastors and congregations
in many parts of the country. The family's love for music affected
young Claudia Marie who ventured out from singing around the piano
in the family's living room, to doing solo's in church by the time
she was in high school.
Claudia Marie will always remember her
very public debut with the family singing group. Her brothers were
scheduled, along with another popular female singer to sing back-up
for another Christian artist who would be representing gospel music
on one of country's music's largest venues. At the last minute the
female back-up singer had to cancel and the kid sister, who'd been
listening in on the rehearsals, was tagged to fill some very big
shoes.
The siblings practiced every mile of the
four hour trip, solidifying each harmony with a blend that, as any
musician knows, only a family can deliver. That day, Claudia Marie
shared the stage with some of today's hottest country acts and several
country music legends. The crowd that day exceeded 70,000 people
at what is known as "the Super Bowl of Country Music",
Jamboree in the Hills.
It would be hard to say who was more nervous
in front of that sea of people: the featured gospel artist, the
brothers, or their little sister. Claudia Marie was not so impressed
by the stars that were there, but was thrilled to be standing, singing
with her brothers. Claudia Marie and her brothers went on to sing
throughout the country, Canada, and also Europe and Asia.
The transition into a solo career hasn't
been an easy one, but her family continues to be involved behind
the scenes as well as in the music itself.
This isn't just another singer singing
songs. Her concerts are very focused and have a definitive direction
leading to decisions for Christ.
